Wake County, North Carolina. Census Bureau Statistics Say Wake Is Number Seven In Growth Nationally. An additional 38,841 people decided to call Wake County home between July of 2006 and July of 2007. That’s a 4.9% increase and brings the total body count to 832,970. Furthermore, during the last seven years the county has grown by 205,124.
